Memorial Day Weekend in Reno | What To Do 2018

Reno Lantern Fest – May 26th, gates open at 4pm, Wild West Motorsports park

Get off the beaten track and join this incredibly unique celebration at Wild West Motorsports Park. Enjoy a festival atmosphere and performances until the sky goes dark, then light up the night sky with your unique lantern.

Last Friday in Victorian Square May 25, 5pm, Victorian Square in Sparks

Kick off this monthly summer series in Victorian Square in Sparks, featuring booths of local artists, live music performances, free movie screening, and a free movie showing at dusk (this weekend features Julie and Julia). Check out the buzz of construction around this up-and-coming residential hub while you are there.

Wildflower Hike on Peavine Mountain

Take a quick hike or a longer trek or mountain bike ride on Reno’s lesser-known mountain, Peavine. The spring rains have brought the wildflowers out in force, and the usual brown scenery is unrecognizable in beautiful greens, blues, pinks, and whites. It’s a short window every spring to catch the colors, catch it while it lasts.

Enjoy the local scenery at Hub Coffee on the river – 727 Riverside Drive, Reno

Hit up the Hub for a delicious beverage, then wander down the walking path along the river or pick up some sweets and the neighboring chocolate and ice cream shop. Their hot chocolate with home-made marshmallow is not to be missed.
